Each week on Some Things Monstrous, we'll focus on a theme. This can be something of the social sciences (a psychological experiment, profile, condition, philosophy, etc). Then we'll examine how it came into the collective consciousness through historic events, social phenomena, and criminal cases. Other times, we hang out and goof/gab.
Do use common sense & decency: No racism, sexism, homophobia, or slurs will be tolerated.
Do participate at your comfort level: I'm happy to field questions about our story to the best of my ability. I'm no expert, just an enthusiast! That said, if you happen to have knowledge on the subject, feel free to share.
Don't spam: I will make a conscious effort to respond to things in chat, but spamming makes responding tedious and can be distracting. Thank you in advance for observing this.
Don't get too personal:
Boundaries are good for all! Thank you for respecting that certain aspects of my personal existence are for me and me alone. As well, protect your peace too. Don't be doxing yourself or getting into trauma talks in the chat as that can create some exceptionally difficult situations to navigate.
IN SUMMARY: Be curious, be kind, or the door your ass shall find.
By popular demand, I have created a THRONE account for the stream. This helps to support myself and the show. The list primarily has books for future topics I'd like to present on. If you have the means to and want to (there is no obligation at all and I will infrequently talk about this), then take a look!
