Greetings Folks! Welcome to the Twitch channel of An Iolair Ghorm! Thank you for stopping by!
I am a 50-something-year-old male living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Born, raised, and educated in Vermont. I was a mathematics major in college with a deep interest in the physical sciences as well as foreign languages and cultures.
I am a former long-time veteran of the software development industry in Silicon Valley where I worked for almost three decades. I am now undergoing a career change to be a mathematics and science teacher, following in the footsteps of my father and brother (both physics professors).
For the math nerds out there, a few of my favorite topics include the complex number system, the Riemann zeta function and analytic continuation, abstract algebra, trigonometry, and set theory. In science, I enjoy pretty much anything involving astrophysics. For foreign languages, I have formally studied Russian and German. More recently, I have been informally studying Scots Gaelic.

What is that username “An Iolair Ghorm”?
It means “the blue eagle” in Scots Gaelic, a nod to my Scottish ancestry. Yep, it’s a mouthful. Feel free to address me as “iolaire”, which means “eagle” (pronounced "YUH-la-re").
