Greetings Folks! Welcome to the Twitch channel of An Iolair Ghorm! Thank you for stopping by!
I am a 50-something-year-old male living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Born, raised, and educated in Vermont. I hold an academic degree in mathematics with a deep interest in the physical sciences as well as foreign languages and cultures.
I am a former long-time veteran of the software development industry in Silicon Valley where I worked for almost three decades. I am now undergoing a career change to be a mathematics and science teacher, following in the footsteps of my father and brother (both physics professors).
For the math nerds out there, a few of my favorite topics include geometry, trigonometry, the complex number system, the Riemann zeta function and analytic continuation, abstract algebra, and set theory. In science, I enjoy pretty much anything involving astrophysics. For foreign languages, I have formally studied Russian and German, and I informally study Scots Gaelic.

My aim is to host a stream that is friendly and positive. Decorum is necessary since youth frequent this stream.
What is that username “An Iolair Ghorm”?
It means “the blue eagle” in Scots Gaelic, a nod to my Scottish ancestry. Yep, it’s a mouthful. Feel free to address me as “iolaire”, which means “eagle” (pronounced "YUH-la-re").

Thank you for your support!
Streaming is a hobby for me, so donations and subscriptions are deeply appreciated but completely optional. Simply your viewership and positive engagement are all I could ask for.

I have been an active player of World of Warships since August 2016, a content creator for the game since March 2018, and a WoWS NA community contributor since September 2020.
Includes drop chances for the Community Contributor containers; search for "contributor".
Wargaming permits use of a variety of mods in World of Warships to improve usability in port and during battle. These mods are implemented through Wargaming's Player Modifications program.
Another mod I sometimes use is the “Mermaid’s Path” voice pack, Version 3.0. The voice pack is currently unavailable through WoWS ModStation and so must be installed separately.
I post World of Warships videos to YouTube featuring
