Hailing from New Zealand, Arptryx / Arpy / Arp aka "The Anomaly" is well known for playing Classic Trance and European Hard Trance with Vinyl (True & Digital). Often referred to a machine, a weapon, the marathon dj... (many 24+ hour sets in 2021; the longest pure vinyl non digital set streamed was 30 hours). The DJ prefers to mix everything manually, by ear, sticking to the same method of the era played; regardless of the music format. Arp also has the rare ability to pitch ride to synch tracks whilst doing so.
Why the name? The name is a play on the Kiwi genus 'Apteryx', an iconic native to NZ. Nocturnal, unique, mysterious and rare. Arp referring to the love of arpeggiated synths (Trance and the like). Sadly, others have since adopted parts of the name, and have no affiliation with the DJ whatsoever.
Also a pioneer of bringing DVS into the limelight to Trance and related streams on Twitch; including former critics.
Neo is also known for being an advocate for classic European Hard Trance on Twitch, and NZ.
This stream is intended for all ages and a safe place to hang out and vibe.

The DJ uses 'Pitch Riding' to match the BPM of two records. This technique is done by ear and using the pitch speed slider on the decks. It's what keeps him engaged and for long periods. The technique avoids touching of the platter, reducing the sound of major pitch shifting during a mix!
Why does the DJ beat match everything, including digital by ear? Foremost it is meditative, it also makes it effortless to transition between true vinyl and digital. This also keeps the method in line with how the tracks were played historically. If the DJ could have everything on vinyl, he so would!
