What's this stream all about?
Hi! Welcome to the stram! We play drum covers of Video Game Music!
1.) Am I allowed to make a request?
Absolutely! As long as it's a song from a video game, a cover of a video game song, a remix, a cool chiptune track (video game adjacent), we'd love to hear your pick.
2.) How do I request a song?
Find a URL for the song (usually on YouTube, Soundcloud or Bandcamp), then in the chat, type "!sr", add a space and then paste your URL after it. The mods will add your request to the !queue.
3.) How many requests can I make?
We don't have a specific rule about number of requests, but we do have a "holding queue" system where we keep your requests and then add them to the main list after one of your other requests gets played. We do ask that you not overload the queue with more than a few requests though, because it's all handled manually.
4.) Do I have to pay for my request to be played?
Not at all!
5.) How long can my request be?
There's no specific time limit on songs, but Gnarthex will decide how long he chooses to play it for. A lot of video game songs tend to be somewhat short. Oftentimes there will be an extended version of the song on YouTube. We prefer to play those and then cut it off where it feels right.
6.) I keep seeing people say SOTN. What does that mean?
Song Of The Night. It's just an unofficial way to proclaim your love for a particular request. They get cataloged in the Gnarchives. There's no rules about who can give a SOTN or how many times. Spread the love!
7.) People keep talking about "spending gams" and it's confusing and scary.
"Gams" is our name for Twitch Channel Points, which you earn just by watching the stream. You can spend your gams on things like skipping the line, or requesting a Non-Video-Game song.
8.) Is Gnarthex in a band?
Yes! He plays drums for the band Fort Frances (https://www.fortfrancesmusic.com/)
9.) Come hang and have fun!
