As we finish our PhD and move into postdoc expect the circumstances of my job to change - including the hope that my next job actually funds their labs properly and thus it becomes worthwhile to work in lab as opposed to with better computing resources at home. In this case, we may continue in a similar vein but more asynchronous/redacted. Depending on the circumstances (if I take on a job where none of this is allowed) the stream may be ended permanently or paused.
Because many of our original goals fell apart as we lost access to equity sale, my priorities have to shift to what pays the bills including taking on more work in my primary career such as our independent contracts through theTinker.
Currently we are unsure where we will be going in 1 year but I am applying for fellowships with Goddard, JPL, and a few DoD/DOE related labs.
As of 7.5 months in I don't feel at all satisfied with our progress on most fronts, but I do feel Ive made technological progress that has caught the interest of some 3-4 letter folks; if those opportunities expand further it will take priority.
Thanks for sticking with us and I look forward to seeing how things change a year from now.
Call me Tinker, this is my last name; not branding. I am a planetary scientist from Long Island. I stream 24/7; all day, every day, in every way - to multiple platforms across the planet, beyond just the visible parts of the electromagnetic spectrum. This is my Truman show, the TruTinker Show
I study the surface processes of terrestrial solar system bodies including the Moon, Mars, and asteroids like Bennu. I also founded theTinker and Tinker University to pursue my goals of modernizing our educational practices globally. SBU CPEx PhD Candidate, Purdue EAPS '20, APL/NASA '18... If you are not comfortable chatting in English feel free to use our Translator: Type "!translate " then your message to have it sent in English in addition to your preferred language. Type "!translateRU" or ANY other two letter language code to translate from english; a list of codes can be found here: https://developers.google.com/admin-sdk/directory/v1/languages
Translation is now designed to be automated; if you send a message that includes no English our script should detect and translate it.
English Closed Captions are available built into twitch on the bottom right of the live video. You can request Live translation of my voice into any language with on-screen captions via the commands !CC XX with XX being your languages google lang code.
You can use !what to read what I said in chat during the past 5 seconds and future 10. Using !WhatXX with XX being your language code, you can do the same in your desired language.
Example: !CC RU !WhatRU !translateRU !translate Это тест.
Use !TTS to talk to Tinker; it is sometimes disabled. Tinker is working on making it audible while mobile, and in the mornings to wake him up.
Change your voice randomly with !voice
!TTS [whisper] Add Style to your messages with [shouting] brackets!
You can do so in any language; it translates and speaks in English.
Sound effects coming soon.
AZURE_PREFIXES = angry, cheerful, excited, hopeful , sad, shouting, terrified, unfriendly, whisper, random, none

Chat wakes Tinker up in the morning by folding his bed; lifting the head and feet up. The 'Jet Engine' is also available to blow him awake. These redeems become available at a set time in the morning, usually between 7-10am.

The music we use on this stream is generated using Suno. Use !SR to request a song via prompting, it will be loaded into the queue and shuffle playlist. <200 characters, describe the song topic, genre, etc. Your request will be loaded into a queue and responded to within a few minutes.
Do not use any copyrighted artists, songs, albums, etc. This is AI Generated music, assuming anything a standard LLM will refuse to discuss this will refuse as well.
Sometimes "Instrumental Mode" forces no lyrics for when Tinker needs to focus. !SRI can be used to prompt an instrumental only song.
All languages accepted.
I highly suggest you try Suno out yourself; you get many tokens free with a basic account. This is the best one available on the market, and very fairly priced.

TLDR comment about art and AI: I believe in the use of generative tools like this in art to support and enhance human creativity; as an engineer began to use CAD instead of drawing, or the painter software instead of soft bristles; I hope to help build a future where tech like this is properly used within its limits and for the right applications. An example I give is Spotify artists training specific models that can make user-oriented songs at will.

Tips and Twitch revenue supplement my grad school stipend and go directly towards my rent, then our organization/university, then the stream hardware:
Do not tip large amounts or several small amounts without first discussing it with Tinker.

I get these questions often so I figured I would formulate and evolve answers to them here to save us time:
Because I am on screen every second this stream is very different than what you traditionally expect from Twitch as a viewer. Treat this like my office hours; the door is always open, I may not always be available. You see me at my best, worst, most energetic, sleepy, angry, sick, so on.. I value the authenticity of the way we experience my life together. This also means my viewers do not expect perpetual entertainment, or attention; our community understands that things happen when they do, rarely with plans. Many of my viewers leave the stream on all day lurking and check in between their work breaks, some have specific hours they are active - either way, just understand that I will only rarely adjust my life to accommodate chat beyond what is necessary to simply share it with you. This also helps protect that authenticity and maintain some bias control.
Because this stream features all aspects of my life; my Chat needs to be more aware of the context of what is going on, and more responsible with how they chat, TTS, use redeems, etc. Know who I am physically around, what we are talking about or doing, all of this - pretend you are in the room with me and all your peers at all times. Act not as an anonymous username; but the high potential human you are and always strive to be. I do not ask you to dox yourself; but be the best authentic version of yourself you can through the medium of texting and profile building that we've been provided.
I go on rants; they are not about you, unless specified - the are about society as a whole. My company aims to fix many of the things I rant about. I hope I can find more things to complain about through yalls experiences, and we can expose the inefficiencies of our world before they expose us.
Everything is, as they say, a 'live document'. At this stage in the process of my companies long term goals everything we work on is subject to innovate and change; likely soon. It won't be for another 1-5 years that our phrasing, marketing, and partners are fully established with some confidence.
Sometimes I will periodically choose, either openly or quietly, to ignore chat and focus on whatever I am doing - this is usually just so I can be productive as possible, but sometimes what we call tentatively call 'habitat' mode; a mode of the stream in which Chat only watches me, like a zoo animal behind glass, and I have no ability to interact and/or be biased by what is being discussed within chat. Please do not take your presence in that chat during these times as an indication of my choice to ignore you, but a circumstance otherwise.
When I am IRL and/or in a voice, video conversation with someone I generally ignore chat as much as possible as I want to maintain focus and not be rude to the person I am talking to. When I am in public I generally talk less and try to be less overt with my streaming; as I do not like to be a nuisance, 'that' IRL streamer, and I feel awkward otherwise.

Chat can attest I am very critical of my suppliers, products, services, etc. I got this from my a mix of my Mother and the nature of my industry to crave high precision. I do plan to be open to sponsorships and other forms of private sector collaboration once we start doing the 'content brain' stuff I discuss at 100%. We currently have NO sponsorships or collaborations, but I am open to receiving proposals either in chat (at the right time) or by email.
If you ask me for a product recommendation I may have one; if I do, I am probably quite passionate about it - otherwise, I am just going to do research with you to find out.
Me and my company will always be fully transparent about our financial positions; beyond the standards expected by local and federal law. Both myself and the company are in a critical financial position due to the limitations that exist to sell equity, which was not an original requirement to our process but was lately decided to be the best way to provide per-existing and future investors with more legitimate stake in our very long term goals. To supplement for the savings needed to properly sell equity, we have both push the decadal milestones and stretched the financing goals associated with our content. As a result, you may start to see more 'content brain' activities slowly roll out as opposed to being dropped like originally intended. We are also limited in YT channels because we do not have multiple phone numbers to verify with; so expect to see a weird subset of our content plans published over the next year. I do not want this to affect the degree to which our pre-existing community decides to financially support me; how much we make from content should scale primarily with the size of our sphere of influence, and quality of the content. This will require my time and effort to do the 'content brain' stuff properly, but does not change my all-encompassing rule of thumb that nobody should be giving me money outside of their own means and limitations.
The company, from personal financing, has made all the necessary initial investments into infrastructure and tech that it can - all profits from any contracts, content, donations, etc will go directly against these investments and then towards any expansion that is discussed in the first half of the decadal.
Our rent is currently $2,000/M for two bedrooms in Long Island, NY. I make near $30K/Year on average in graduate school stipend.
[Draft, to be auto-updated in the future]: Our content, in total, currently generates an average of $450 per month. The content and stream costs roughly $200 per month to operate, most of which is covered monthly solely by ad revenue! One of the best ways to help financially is to hang around, co-work, keep me company, and refresh when the stream resets.
