Beginning 7/26 at 12:01 AM, members of SAG-AFTRA and actors standing in solidarity with the union went on strike as a result of over a year and-a-half of negotiations without a deal with bargaining partners. The primary unresolved issue is that the companies who have previously held collective bargaining agreements with the union refuse to put in writing that they will provide A.I. protections to all performers in the newly proposed contract.
