Jet City Roller Derby is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sportsmanship and athleticism by providing training, instruction and competition in the sport of roller derby. We rely on ticket sales, sponsors and donations to pay for practice time, travel and other expenses.

Q. How is the game played? A. Check out our our website for this quick Derby 101

Q. What are the different roles in a roller derby game? *A. There are 3 on track positions:

• Jammers (wear the star on their helmet) score points
• Blockers work to prevent the opposing jammer from scoring points and help their jammer score points
• Pivot (wear the stripe) is a special blocker who can become a jammer when given the star helmet cover.

Q. Do I need experience to join Jet City? A. We welcome skaters of all skill levels. We offer training programs to new skaters teaching basic skating skills and derby techniques through our Pilot and Cadet programs.

Q. I'm in the Seattle area and I want to get involved. What are my options? A. You have some options.

• You're a new skater interested in learning or want to take some derby classes.
• You're experienced derby player
• If you don't want to get hit, we can train you to become a referee or a non-skating official (NSO) and join our Ground Crew.
• We're always looking for volunteers to help our games run smoothly.

Our League

Established in 2006 and based out of Everett, WA, JCRD is run by the skaters for the skaters.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Our league is currently made up of two home teams, the Skyraiders and the Aviators, bout against visiting teams. JCRD also has a travel team, the Jet City All-Stars, that competes in national tournaments and sanctioned games.

What We Do

• Compete locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally in the sport of roller derby
• Provide education and high-intensity training to prepare our athletes for serious competition
• Have fun and believe in promoting fun!
• Support community charities
• Help empower women, both cis and trans, and non-binary people of all ages through athleticism and teamwork
• Commit to being positive role models to our younger fans
• Host fun off-the-track events such as music events and fundraisers

The Jet City Mission

Jet City Roller Derby provides a positive environment for training and competition in the sport of roller derby. We are a member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association. We strive to improve Snohomish County by developing athletes, promoting healthy lifestyles, providing community service, and partnering with local charities.
