I usually categorized my playthroughs into different segments which includes..
In this segment, I usually download a vanilla version of a game title (without any DLC) that piqued my curiosity, which may or may not be outside my genre or preference, and try it out for a couple of minutes to an hour; and later decide if I should play it regularly or drop it.
A segment where I play the current RPG (often JRPG) that has gained my attention. RPGs are my main game genre and these kinds of games usually involved around 20 hours and beyond to complete. A perfect recipe for titles to be put in the backlog of games that I will eventually finish.
In this segment I play and preview demos of the games that I am interested in playing. I might play it in one sitting and MAY eventually pick it up when it officially.
Every Thursday I try out (and maybe finish?) old school or retro games. These games ranges from the games I grew up playing and maybe some new ones which I have not even touched. Can be categorized under the "From Start to Finish" segment, but we'll see.
