MakerDeck is a 24/7 live video stream that enables makers / creators to stream their activities simultaneously (and together). Meet the makers and make new connections - all the time! Participation is ad hoc, and you never know what will be made - or who will be making something - next.
This is a VERY interactive channel - absolutely nothing is automated. Anybody can be a maker in this stream, and everybody is encouraged to interact in chat.
MakerDeck streams 24/7, but we have special events and live content scheduled for you, too. You can also check the Events section on our Discord server to turn on notifications for any / all scheduled content!
MakerDeck is merely accelerating and expanding a community that already exists - increasing approachability, accessibility, and cross-discoverability. Its focus is to promote makers together, encouraging everybody to follow makers directly on their own accounts.
While everyone is welcome to watch 24/7, any maker can also join us in-stream (no matter what you choose to make). Just ask!
The MakerDeck stream is for makers, crafters, and community. This is for sharing all sorts of maker-driven projects. If you’re into activities like 3D printing (watching or doing), then you can join the fun on-screen or off. Whether or not you already stream your process somewhere, you’re always welcome here.
Type !join in chat to learn how to stream your makes alongside others on this channel. Our rules are on Discord (which we use to share our makes daily).
Community is always looking for new creators to follow
Creators are always looking for ways to find new followers
Knowing where people are most likely active when you’re looking for maker-specific help
Makers who don't normally create content or stream can easily be rotated into this ongoing stream
This is the easiest way to watch multiple makers making simultaneously
Use a second monitor or TV screen to watch MakerDeck - it's a perfect way to enjoy the stream.
You can add MakerDeck to your Twitch profile's shelf - it's very appreciated (you never know who will see it there)!
Twitch Community Guidelines says it's okay to show the MakerDeck stream into your own Twitch stream - so long as it's not the only thing you're broadcasting and you tell people where they can follow this channel directly when they ask!
Be polite, be courteous, be patient, and absolutely NO GATEKEEPING. This is a mix between all levels of makers and interests at different experience levels.
Use !addmake [your print details, printer, etc.] so anybody can trigger "!make @username" to find out what you're doing.
It takes a massive amount of time from individuals to coordinate regular MakerDeck activities. This channel is not automated. Cheering, tipping, and subscribing / gifting subs is very appreciated. All contributions go back into the channel's support mechanisms and time spent administrating.
Do you want to stream a make that isn't 3D Printing? Suggest it! You don't even need to be a regular streamer to join.
Let other makers know that they can also submit a request to stream into this feed.
Join our Discord to further interact with everybody, share links, show-and-tell.
Any discoverability help is awesome.
Our Twitter account is always looking for more maker fun to accelerate!
Give feedback, suggestions - and please be patient. Chris Pirillo spearheads this project and has worked on it transparently, supported by many others.
