Hi, I’m Mercurial Forge but everyone calls me "Merc".
I'm a game developer and artist. I used to stream mostly art, but these days I focus on game development and sharing the process behind my current project. I also some times stream games and talk about them from a developer's perspective.
On stream, I often give advice about art, game dev, breaking into the industry, starting a business, and more; so feel free to ask me anything (that doesn't break the rules).
In 2024, I moved to the Netherlands, where I started my own game studio. Now I spend my time creating games, working with clients around the world, and running mentorships and classes for artists looking to grow their skills and careers.
I’m currently developing Witches’Butler, a narrative-driven dating sim inspired by classic PC-98 adventure games with a gothic twist.
I handle the game’s writing, design, and production, while my co-developer auphskey leads art direction and visual development, through character and environmental art.
Together, we’re building a story rich in atmosphere and mystery. Our goal is to capture the nostalgic charm of retro visual novels and adventure games while weaving in deep storytelling, emotional depth, and a touch of dark magick.

I taught masters level anatomy for sculptors and hero characters and props at the Academy of Art in San Francisco.
I worked on numerous games, Spyro Reignited is probably the most recognizable but I also worked with Keita Takahashi.
