King of the Hill (KOTH) is a winner stays format, where players take turns at becoming the king and trying to build the longest winning streak. After a king has been determined in a challenger match (when there is no active king), the king will choose his hill (map, faction and side) and try to defend it as long as possible. Challengers queue up and take turns and attempt to steal the crown.
Casting is done from the challengers POV.
Normal CoH rules (not PhoenixMod):
Players can demand each other to liivestream their perspective (publicly or a privately for the casters only). Goes both ways and is optional. When asked, a screenshot has to be provided, otherwise the game is annulled.
Ignorantia juris non excusat! If you broke the rules without knowing, your opponent decides if the match counts. You can ask your opponent for any special agreement like "can I capwalk please". If they are ok with that then fine, otherwise standard rules apply!
The king chooses a map (1v1 automatch pool) as his "hill" when he gets the status as king for the first time. He will play that map, side and faction for the rest of his "reign". For challenger matches (no king) both players need to agree on something. If they can't , they will coin flip + vetos like in tournaments.
Observer maps are 4v4 maps where both teams have 3 observer slots. These slots are reserved for spectators that share their team's vision. This usually has a few side effects, namely not seeing players resources, their production and their doctrine choices in the UI. I fixed the resources and workarounds with custom scripting in the map files. We srtill can't turn off fog of war. This is the only way to cast games live in CoH1.
I fixed some issues that the old observer maps had and added a few new features.
The map(s) are automatically downloaded once you join a game that features them. You can also download them manually in CoH's in game workshop or via steam directly under this link: https://steamcommunity.com/id/Nubb3r/myworkshopfiles/?appid=228200
Some explanations about the fixes:
(*) Fuel income is only synchronized when a player has at least one fuel point in his posession. This is due to a technical limitation: It is only possible to adjust a player's resource income rate with a multiplicative modifier, so if we as an observer have 0 fuel income, we can't multiply that with anything to match the actual player's income.
(**) For popcap synchronization we needed to use a workaround, because it is impossible to adjust the current/actual popcap value. We can only modify the max popcap value. The solution is to multiply the current/actual value with 100 and add the max value to it. The result is best described by the following:
The first 1 or 2 digits refer to the current popcap amount and the last 2 digits refer to the max popcap amount.
Big thanks to SirPsycho for helping me out on this and MrLate who made the original observer maps.
Version 2.1 now features static Command Points for observers (always 0).

Replays don't work, even if you have the right maps installed. I couldn't find a solution for this yet.
