In 2019, I read up on the Sensory Processing Sensitivity [SPS] trait (aka Highly Sensitive Person [HSP], which changed my life. It's a trait that ~20% of humans have, typically passed down the same way our hair/eye color does. It has been observed in other species, including horses & fish!

Trauma tends to embed within our parasympathetic nervous system & isn't something we can simply "overcome" or "get over".
