1 - We can only catch the first Pokemon that we encounter in each new area. If the first Pokemon encountered in that area faints, or either party runs away, we may not catch any other Pokemon in that area.
1.a - We are using the "Duplicates Clause" to modify this rule. This clause states that only the first Pokemon that we encounter in an area that has not been registered as owned in the Pokedex is eligible to be caught. If we encounter a Pokemon that has been registered as owned in the Pokedex, we may treat the next Pokemon encountered as the first encountered in the area.
2 - If a Pokemon faints, it is considered dead and must be released. If all held Pokemon faint in a way that results in a whiteout/blackout, the Nuzlocke ends in failure.
3 - Every Pokemon used must have a nickname.
4 - Any Pokemon gifted to us by an NPC can be used so long as it can be nicknamed or has been given a nickname. These Pokemon do not count as Pokemon caught in an area.
