After countless artist stream showcases during COVID and hosting over 30 people in my dorm room in early 2022, a small crew and I founded SKY BASS!
SKY BASS is a hybrid online and IRL DNB event based in the Netherlands that still streams every show right here on this channel. It's also the name for our worldwide online community affiliated with this event and channel!
Our dream is to grow SKY BASS both locally and internationally through events and our label. We aim to bridge the gap between Twitch and the real world. Not only by booking (international) Twitch and non-Twitch DJs at our events, but also by showing the wider scene what Twitch DJs and our community have to offer.TEAM SKY BASS is a core part of that mission.

Q: Where does the name "POLYMATHIC" come from?
A: POLYMATH is the (old) Greek word for; "he who studied a lot", which is correct. I've been a student for 10+ years and I love everything about it. Also my real name, Mathijs, fits nicely in that artist name. Only thing left is to take away the "js" and ad the "C".
Q: Where can I see you play live?
A: The scrolling bar on screen shows my IRL gigs, but feel free to ask. I'm always open to new bookings, so feel free to introduce me to your local promoter. Due to very expensive and difficult to obtain work visa's I sadly can't perform in the US in the foreseeable future.
Q: How do you find new songs?
A: Look on Spotify for "Brand New Drum & Bass" by "Lennart Hoffmann". This SKY BASS DJ and fellow Liquicity DJ Contest Winner knows his stuff and updates his playlist every week with 100+ songs. Also I just shamelessly Shazam whatever I can.
Q: Do you do requests?
A: Depends. But often; yes I do take suggestions. But I need to actually own the song and it should be in the DJ Catalogue.
Q: Do you play Techno?
A: Can't spell "techno" without "no".
