Hi, I'm Drew! Welcome to my channel. I am a professional archivist by day and moonlight as a streamer at night. I currently live in the city of broad shoulders (Chicago), but I’m originally from Alabama (War Eagle). As I am a retro streamer, most games on this channel are from the 80s and 90s, but I throw in a new game every now and then.
So what can you find at this channel that you might not find anywhere else? Well, for starters:
I grew up with these games - I received my first console, an NES, in 1989, and have a personal experience with most (but not all) of the games I play on this channel. As I play them, you will hear about my personal memories with these games, as well as tips and tricks you can take away for your own playthrough.
A historian’s perspective - I have a graduate degree in history and, through my obsession with reliving the past, an encyclopedic knowledge of video game history. Expect to get a history lesson on the current game/franchise/console that I’m playing.
An archivist’s perspective - As a certified archivist, one of the recurring topics on my stream is usually the preservation of historical materials, especially video games. I frequently share tips on how to preserve paper and digital materials, and usually weigh on the current “to emulate or not emulate” debate.
Comedy gold - if I struggle with a game I can get pretty salty. I’ve been told it’s hilarious.
A dog - my 12 year old beagle hangs out on my stream. Sometimes he licks his behind.
An inclusive place - above all else, I want this channel to be a place where anyone and everyone can come to escape the stress of the modern world. Don’t be a jerk to other folks here.
