Simfest is a collection of friends who fly home built, full sized, fixed flight simulators. We're made up of pilots, engineers, air traffic controllers, enthusiasts and even a nuclear scientist!
Throughout the year we partake in various events on the VATSIM Air Traffic network culminating in our main event, Worldflight, in November.
At other times we'll be testing the simulator or just having fun shooting approaches into weird, wonderful and challenging destinations.
Each year we nominate a charity we will support through your donations to the stream if you enjoy watching us. All the money goes directly to the charity
Since 2006 we have raised over £250,000 for The Lullaby Trust, The Alzheimer's Society, The Cure Parkinsons Trust, London Air Ambulance, RNLI, Dreamflight, Cancer Research UK, Grace For Gulu and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Mental Health Research.
In 2023 we reaised £40,000 for The Lullaby Trust
In 2022 we raised £33,000 for The Lullaby Trust
In 2021 we raised £35,000 for The Lullaby Trust
In 2020 we raised £33,000 for The Lullaby Trust
In 2019 you all raised over £43,000 for The Lullaby Trust.
In 2018 you raised over £35,000 for Contact the Elderly.
In 2017 you raised £25,000 for Mental health Research, and in 2016 you raised over £30,000 for the Alzheimer's Society.
Thank you for your support
We have chosen to support The Lullaby Trust for 2025. The Lullaby Trust is a charity which both raises awareness of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), provides expert advice on safer sleep for babies and offers emotional support for bereaved families.
Not only does their research help to prevent such an unthinkable thing happening to other families, but their ongoing support is invaluable, especially to those who don’t have the support network many of us take for granted.
We don't know - we really don't, we're too scared to add it up!! However as a rough guestimate we think it is around £80,000
We don't have visitors due to the simulators being located at residential premises.
We try to mimic real operations as much as possible, which includes trying not to crash it!
