Reigning from a family that safeguards and takes care of the Snake Shrine, "Yun" returns one day from picking up goods for his shrine, only to find his entire family slaughtered at his shrine. With his shrine on the verge of collapsing, he runs, and is greeted by a sacred scroll from the shrine. Clutching a note that read "you're next" in his hand, he swore revenge and signed his soul away to the Snake Zodiac.
Now, in exchange for immortality and powers from the snake, he has to sacrifice souls regularly to feed his new companion. He considers the snake his one true companion, dearly loving and caring for it. Thus, the snake named "Suzu", now bounded in soul, travel together on this vengeance-filled path. Together, earning the name "Suzuyun".
