I'm Tarkus, and if it wasn't obvious, I play a lot of video games.
I'm a university student, but I'm not attending any classes yet as once COVID hit, I had to do my courses online and I didn't want to do that. The sabbatical from courses has more or less gone on indefinitely as my career has pivoted to streaming and YouTube now that I've seen some success. I will go back one day and complete my Linguistics degree.
I once worked in film as a boom operator, and as an assistant director/producer, however I had a falling out with one of my film friends that resulted in me not really wanting to work in film anymore. I still have a passion for film, both Hollywood and Bollywood though, and love discussing films. In recent time, I've been considering picking movie work back up, we'll see. I live in Vancouver so there's always movie work to be done.
I speak English, French, and Spanish at nearly fluent levels, and I'm happy to respond to chat messages in these languages. I know bits and pieces of all kinds of European languages, but I can't promise fluency in anything else than the 3 above.
Well, I play games that I would like to consider "mechanically deep" be that in their execution at a motor level, or in thought.
Crusader Kings 3, and Victoria 3 are the most common games on stream currently. I go through phases of which games I like playing, which is reflected on the stream. You'll usually see something like CK3 for a couple weeks or months, then Vic 3 for a while, then EU4, etc. It's rare that I completely lose interest in map games.
I'm going to try doing some variety here and there for the stream, but to be completely honest, I don't like to do variety much because I get self-conscious about playing games I'm not extremely good at on stream.
My favourite game franchises are, in no particular order:
Metal Gear Solid Civilization Endless Space/Legends Demons' Souls/Dark Souls Mount and Blade Ninja Gaiden Starcraft Devil May Cry Elder Scrolls Metro Wasteland X-com Warcraft (the RTS, not the MMO)
You can find my playlist on my Discord, but it's basically just various videogame OSTs from my favorite franchises over the years. I occasionally trim from it or add to it depending on if songs on YouTube/Twitch get copyright struck or if new music enters my tastes, but that's pretty rare.
I don't take music suggestions just because if I take one, I've gotta take them all, and that's a huge pain.
