Mental Health !team - Learn about my team, Happy People! !sh - Use this command if you need help or someone to talk to.
Friendly is a living identity crisis. But everything he does relates to music and involves playing the violin. From covers, improv, and studio work to classical concerts, early music, and modern chamber music, almost any music that says something original and authentic can capture his attention.
To learn about his life and what might've created such a strange human, you may have to stalk him or watch his streams! Once in awhile he drops some biographical deets to help his viewers prep for the elusive trivia stream alleged by some rumors.
Friendly regularly performs live learn requests (!ll) on stream.
When (and How)?
Anytime (Channel Points) - During any stream, viewers may redeem channel points (2,000 fiddlesticks) or make a minimum $3.00 donation to request a live learn (please read guidelines below!).
Thursday Nights (Live Learn Request) - Live Learns are free during Thursday night streams. Atm there is no sub requirement or request limit per viewer, though 3-hour streams typically include 20-30 songs.
Sunday Night (Themed Request) - Every Sunday Friendly chooses a theme. When possible, he will honor any live learn request that convincingly matches that night's theme (creative matches are always welcome!)
Guidelines:
| Free (or Theme-Related) Live Learns - In the stream chat, type !ll (exclamation mark, the letter L, the letter L) followed by the song title and a link to sheet music, a video, or an audio recording. You can also simply include the title (and artist) of your song. If possible, Friendly or one of the mods will try to locate sheet music or an audio recording.
| Channel-Points Redeem - Save up 2,000 Fiddlesticks by watching the stream live and actively chatting. Click on the Fiddlesticks icon under the chat messenger to view available channel point rewards. Scroll down and click the 'Fiddling Fiddler (Live Learn)' icon. When you redeem this reward, you will receive a prompt to enter a link or title as described above.
| Cheer/Donation/Tip - Before making a cheer, donation, or tip specifically for a Live Learn request, please check with Friendly or one of the mods to ensure he can perform your request can be performed. Cheer 300 bits or make a donation (via Paypal: [email protected]; streamlabs: https://streamlabs.com/the_friendly_fiddler/tip). Tag Friendly in the chat (type @The_Friendly_Fiddler) and include a link or title in your message as described above.
If at all possible, please provide a link or pdf with sheet music for your request. If you do not have sheet music, check out one of these resources:
| Musescore.com - When viewing the page with your song's sheet music, please look at the right hand column and verify that there is a 'Download' tab located above the 'Favorite' tab. If not, the file is protected by copyright and cannot be played on stream (but you can probably find another version--often NOT the official version--that is free of copyright). If possible, please provide a score for piano or piano and one other solo instrument. Scores for violin alone and scores for many instruments are not ideal and may be rejected.
| Tomplay.com - Friendly maintains a premium subscription to Tomplay. Viewers may make song requests of selections found on Tomplay. You do not need to subscribe to search titles or make requests. Simply provide a link or title in your Live Learn request.
| imslp.org - A completely free library of downloadable pdfs (uploaded by users) of music in the public domain, this site is best for classical music and other music not under copyright.
| Scribd.com - As with Tomplay, viewers do not need to subscribe to Scribd in order to search titles or make requests. Simply provide a link to the page where the file can be accessed or include the title and mention that the score is available on Scribd.com.
| Video links - While video files are not ideal, they are an option. Friendly prefers videos that include sheet music for him to read. Also, please review the video description for any information about copyright restrictions.
| Audio links - Less ideal (but still an option) is to include a link to an audio file such as a soundcloud link. Our channel does not maintain subscriptions to spotify, apple music, or other streaming platforms with paywall restrictions. Please verify that any link you send is accessible for free without the need for a subscription.
